On June 15th, the national holiday Peledysh Payrem will take place in the capital of the Republic of Mari El. The Republican Center of Mari Culture has published a detailed program of the festivities.
On June 14, guests of the holiday will be greeted with a business seminar at the House of National Cultures and a folk dance festival “Yyr kushtymash. Mari circle dance” on Patriarch Square.
On June 15, the main events will unfold at several venues in the city. The Dubovaya Polyana will host the calendar-ritual holiday “Agavayrem”, and the Lenin Square will host the grand opening and festive procession.
The Central Park of Culture and Leisure will become the venue for the festival of courtyards, a crafts fair, an ethnoplenary, sports competitions, a festival of folk art, and a family competition. In the evening, guests will be treated to a screening of Mari films.
Chavain Boulevard and the Tsarevokokshaisk Kremlin will host fairs, festivals of ethnic brands, and national costumes.
