The VIII World Congress of Finno-Ugric Peoples will be postponed

NGO Fenno-Ugria announces that due to the emergency situation caused by the COVID-19 virus, the VIII World Congress of Finno-Ugric Peoples will be postponed.

The new dates of congress, which was initially planned to take place on the 17th-19th of June 2020 in Tartu, are still not clear. The new dates will be decided by the Consultative Committee of Finno-Ugric Peoples. The location of the congress, the Estonian National Museum, will remain the same.

Estonia expects representatives of 23 different Finno-Ugric nations to the VIII World Congress of Finno-Ugric Peoples. Altogether, about 500 people will participate in the congress, including 215 delegates, as well as observers, guests and journalists. The presidents of Finland, Hungary, Russia and Estonia have been invited to the opening ceremony of the congress.
